Greg Mackie – Chief Instigator
Greg Mackie is the driving force and inventor behind the NutraTrack Pro, Mini and future Mackie Scientific products.
Since 1971, Greg Mackie has been a pioneer of invention, manufacturing innovation and sales to the mass-market consumer and professional audio markets. Greg founded companies and established brands including Mackie, Audio Control and TAPCO. Greg has personally conceived and authored products with Mackie Designs alone that have generated well over $1 billion dollars in wholesale revenue. Mackie, TAPCO and Audio Control remain significant market brands today, and have collectively sold over $3 billion dollars worldwide.
His ability to view problems with a fresh, innovative approach led him to frustration with conventional “diet” scales. This led to a long development process and collaboration, resulting in Mackie Scientific and its line of easy-to-use nutrition scales.

Steve Dame – Hardware/Firmware Engineering
Steve Dame designs and maintains hardware and firmware systems for Mackie Scientific, and works closely with Mr. Mackie as a key member of our product development team.
Steve is a senior engineer at Boeing; the largest manufacturer of aircraft in the world. He has worked in the medical ultrasound industry for GE Medical Systems, and ATL (Philips Medical). He helped pioneer some of the early advances in medical ultrasound such as coronary artery imaging and Doppler signal processing and was awarded Technical Fellow in 1994 for his work in Doppler Ultrasound. Steve holds several audio patents as well as other patents pending.
Steve has spent the last decade developing numerous embedded wireless products utilizing low cost wireless personal area network technologies built upon IEEE 802.11, 802.15, WiFi, Zigbee and other protocol stacks.
Dr. Somsak Sukittanon – Software Engineering
Somsak Sukittanon creates and maintains product software and internal product data-bases.
Somsack is an associate professor at the university of Tennessee at Martin. His area of expertise is in embedded systems, mobile software, and signal processing. He received the outstanding teaching award and endowed professorship from the University of Washington & University of Tennessee at Martin, respectively.
